Aggravated Robbery

Aggravated Robbery under Texas Penal Code § 29.03 is robbery that involves causing serious bodily injury to another person, using or exhibiting a deadly weapon, or causing injury to or threatening an elderly or disabled person. It is a First-Degree Felony carrying 5–99 years or life in prison and a fine up to $10,000. No actual injury is required if a deadly weapon is exhibited — the threat alone with a weapon during a robbery constitutes aggravated robbery. Texas courts treat this as one of the most serious violent felonies, and parole eligibility is limited.
